Participation in the Wind Ensemble requires an audition at the start of the Fall semester. All William & Mary students are eligible to audition and once accepted, will be able to register for their respective ensemble(s) in PATH. Members are expected to commit to the ensemble for the full year
Audition Structure
Auditions for the W&M Wind Ensemble will take place August 28-31, 2024 in the Music Arts Center. The audition consists of the following:
- Excerpt for your instrument (see below). Prepare the measures marked in red brackets. Percussionists, choose either timpani, snare drum, or xylophone.
- Short (1-2 min.), lyrical selection of your own choice.
- Sightreading
