Audition information for the 2026-2027 academic year will be released mid May
Participation in the Wind Ensemble requires an audition at the start of the Fall semester. All William & Mary students are eligible to audition and, once accepted, will be able to register for their respective ensemble(s) in PATH. Members are expected to commit to the ensemble for both the Fall and Spring semesters.
Audition Structure
Auditions for the W&M Wind Ensemble will take place at the beginning of the Fall Semester in the Music Arts Center. The audition consists of the following:
- A short (1-2 minutes) lyrical piece (can be an etude or an excerpt from a concerto or ensemble music)
- Prepared Excerpt (will be released mid May).
- Sightreading
